1. What are Small Groups?
Small groups are a place to connect with others and build relationships. We offer 5 types of groups including New Arrivals Groups , Connection Groups , 4Word Groups , Interest Groups , and Renewal Groups . Some groups meet off-campus in homes, workplaces, and other arenas in Ft. Worth and the surrounding areas while others meet on-campus.
2. What Happens in a Small Group? Our New Arrivals Groups and Connection Groups include relationship building, discussion of a curriculum, and prayer for one another’s needs. Our Interest Groups are highly relational and are organized around a common interest, felt need, or strength or passion. 4Word groups are more educational and take place in classrooms on-campus. Our Renewal Groups help people find recovery and renewal over difficult issues through a support group environment on campus. Most groups are 1 ½ - 2 hours in length. Interest Groups might be longer depending on the focus of the group.
3. Who are Small Groups For?
Everybody! We believe every person at Christ Church should be connected in a small group. In addition to our adult small groups, we offer groups for children, teenagers, and college/young adults.
4. Do You Offer Groups Focused on Specific Age Groups? Yes! All of our Sunday morning on-campus 4Word Groups are organized by generations. In addition, many of our Connection Groups and Interest Groups focus on people in a specific age groups or lifestage.
5. When do Small Groups Meet?
Connection Groups and Interest Groups meet on various days at various times throughout the week. 4Word Groups meet primarily on Sunday mornings at Wednesday evenings. New Arrivals Groups and Renewal Groups meet on Wednesday evenings.
6. When do Small Groups Start and End?
Sunday morning 4Word groups meet year round. Wednesday evening 4Word groups, New Arrivals Groups, and Renewal Groups operate on 6-12 week semesters (typically January – March; April & May; Summer; Fall). Connection Groups meet in the fall (September – Early December) and spring (late January – End of April) and typically meet the 2nd and 4th week of the month.
7. What about Childcare?
Childcare is offered free of charge at Christ Church for all Sunday morning small groups (8:45 AM – 12:15 PM) and Wednesday evening small groups (6:45 PM – 8:30 PM) for nursery – 6th grade (nursery is 6 weeks – 3 years). Childcare is also offered for Connection Groups that meet on Sunday nights (2nd & 4th week) during the fall and spring. Some Connection Groups offer childcare in the home—check with the group host in advance.
8. What do Small Groups Study?
Small groups study varying topics depending on the small group type. Connection Groups typically study a curriculum promoted for the entire congregation. Interest groups may or may not study a curriculum depending on the group focus. New Arrivals Groups, 4Word Groups, and Renewal Groups study curriculum related to their class topic.
9. How Do I Join a Small Group?

10. How Many Small Groups Can I Join?
That is completely up to you. Some people are involved in multiple groups while others choose one group. Our goal is to help you connect in a group where you can build relationships.
